Finally gave those cheap Chinese sanding discs a real try
I've been using the same 3M discs for years and swore I'd never switch after a bad batch of no-name ones back in 2018. Picked up a 50-pack of the blue ones from a supplier in Cleveland for $22 and figured I'd burn through them on a beater fender. Anyone else find a budget brand that actually holds up longer than five minutes?

Funny how we all get burned once by a bad batch and then swear off entire categories of stuff for years. That supplier in Cleveland might be onto something if they're selling direct without the brand markup. I've noticed the same pattern with sandpaper, drill bits, even simple hand tools - sometimes the cheap stuff is just the same thing in different packaging.

Hey @iris_mason88, that's a good point. How do you actually tell the difference between a real cheap find and something that's just cheap junk?
