Why does nobody warn you about the 3am Waffle House crowd on Moreland
Last Saturday I ended up at the Waffle House on Moreland around 3am after a show at the Earl, and the whole place was somehow running smoother than any restaurant I have ever seen at normal dinner hours. A guy in a full suit was doing magic tricks for the cook, two nurses from Grady were arguing about who had the worst shift, and my scattered smothered and covered arrived in under 4 minutes flat. Then a dude walked in wearing a bathrobe and ordered 11 waffles to go, and nobody even blinked. Is the Moreland location always like this on weekends or did I just catch the best night in Atlanta?
Did the cook actually do a trick back for the suit guy, or did he just keep flipping eggs like nothing was happening? That detail matters because the vibe at that Waffle House lives or dies on whether the staff plays along with the weirdness. Next time grab a seat at the counter and watch the cook, he is the real show.
