Why does nobody talk about the trick with the Waze app and the I-285 loop?
I was stuck in that awful afternoon traffic on the connector near Northside Drive for the third time this week. I tried the usual side streets but they were just as bad. On a whim, I set my Waze destination to a random exit on the opposite side of the 285 loop, not my actual exit. It routed me around the entire perimeter instead of through the city center. It added maybe 5 miles, but I got home to Decatur 20 minutes faster. Has anyone else found a weird routing trick that actually works here?
Wait, @the_seth, are you saying people actually know about that? I tried it last Tuesday around 5:45 and it was already a mess... the on-ramp was totally backed up. The secret's definitely out if it's failing that early. Makes me wonder how many cars are trying to beat the clock now. That loop is just impossible to figure out sometimes.
