The great I-285 sign change of 2021 still confuses my parents

Three years ago, they swapped all the exit numbers on 285 to match the mile markers. My dad, who has lived here since '85, called me last week from the Northside Drive exit, completely lost. He said, "I was looking for exit 24 and it's just gone." I had to talk him through using the new number, which is something like 22 now. It took him 15 extra minutes to get to the airport. Does anyone else have family that still can't get with the new system?

It's like when they rearrange your local grocery store. Muscle memory just takes over and you're lost in the cereal aisle.

Ever notice how this happens with apps and websites too? They'll change the whole layout overnight and suddenly you can't find your own messages. It feels like companies are constantly trying to fix things that weren't broken. They train us to use something one way, then pull the rug out for no clear reason. Makes you wonder if they even test these changes on real people first.
