Spent $250 on a parking pass for the Peachtree Road Race and it was a total rip-off

I signed up for the race this year and figured I'd make it easy by buying the official parking pass they offered. It cost me about $250, which is crazy for parking, but I thought it would save me the stress of finding a spot on race day. The pass was for a deck over a mile from the start line, and the traffic getting into it was a nightmare. We sat in the car for almost an hour just to get into the structure, and by the time we walked to the corrals, I was already worn out. The whole point was to make the morning smoother, but it just added more hassle and cost. I should have just taken MARTA like everyone says to do. Has anyone else gotten burned by these 'official' event add-ons that promise convenience but just don't deliver?

Yeah, that sounds like a rough morning... last year I just parked at a friend's apartment building a few miles away and split an Uber. Cost about fifteen bucks each and they dropped us right near the corrals. The traffic was still bad, but at least we weren't driving.

My own attempt to beat the traffic last year just left me circling for forty-five minutes like a total idiot.
