Question about the new parking meters downtown

I got a $45 ticket at the meters near Centennial Park yesterday because the app glitched and didn't register my payment, so now I only use the physical kiosk and take a photo of the receipt.

My buddy Jake got hit with a $60 ticket from the app on Maple Street. He had to go down to city hall and argue with them for an hour to get it cleared.

Maple Street has that new camera system, right? I read a news article last week about it giving out wrong tickets. The story said it flagged a delivery truck for blocking a box when it was actually moving. Your buddy Jake is lucky he got it cleared, but an hour at city hall is brutal. They really need to fix those sensors before people waste more time.

That article mentioned at least six wrong tickets in one week. It's crazy that Jake had to burn an hour of his day to fix their mistake. The city should be paying people back for their time, not just clearing the fine.
