Hot take: I used to think the BeltLine was just a crowded sidewalk until I started biking it at 6 AM.

Now I get why people fight for it, the quiet morning view of the city is completely different. Anyone else found a specific time that changes a packed Atlanta spot?

Piedmont Park right after a summer rain.

Perfect time to go if you enjoy dodging puddles the size of small ponds and that special smell of wet dog mixed with steamed garbage. The geese get extra bold when the ground is soggy, like they're daring you to slip in goose muck. And good luck finding a dry bench. The whole place just turns into a giant, muddy slip and slide.

That one time at Grant Park after a storm, the humidity was so thick you could drink it. Reminds me of danielm48's post about Piedmont, these city parks get a whole different vibe when they're soaked. I saw a guy trying to jog and his shoes made this awful squelching sound with every step. Felt bad for him but it was also kind of funny, like watching someone run in place.
