Honestly, the chat about the new beltline food hall prices got me looking at my own spending
Tbh, I saw a thread where someone said a burger and fries at the new spot was $24 before tax. I checked my bank app and realized I spent over $200 last month just on quick lunches around Midtown. That's like a car payment. It made me think about how easy it is to just grab something without noticing the total. Has anyone else cut back on eating out lately and found some good, cheaper spots instead?

That $200 on lunches thing is real. I started making big batches of soup on Sundays just to stop the bleeding.

Batch cooking is the only way I've made a real dent in my own spending... it's too easy to talk yourself into a $15 salad when the fridge is empty. A big pot of chili or pasta sauce on Sunday makes the whole week easier.

Used to be one of those people who thought batch cooking was just for folks with tons of time and huge freezers. But after a few weeks of blowing $50 on takeout because I was too tired to make anything, I finally tried it. Now I get it - having that chili or pasta sauce ready means I don't even have to think about spending money on lunch. It's not fancy but it works every time. What's your go-to batch meal that keeps you from ordering out?
