Finally gave in and tried that BBQ joint in East Atlanta everyone raves about

I was convinced Smoke Ring was overhyped (you know, all Instagram no substance), but their brisket last Saturday actually melted in my mouth. Has anyone else been converted by a spot you swore was just popular for the vibe?

Wait, does this mean I have to admit my foodie pride was wrong? lol. I was the same way with a spot near my route, swore it was all hype until I licked the sauce off my fingers in the parking lot. Guess sometimes the hype's actually earned, huh?

Four years I passed that taco truck without stopping and now I’m mad at myself for all that wasted time.

The Smoke Ring brisket got me too, same thing happened with a place called Zuniga's on Memorial Drive. I walked past that pupusa spot for almost two years, told myself it was just another trendy pop-up nobody would remember. Then my buddy dragged me there after a Braves game and I had to eat my words. @margaret_singh1 I know the feeling so well, that wasted time really stings when you finally taste the real deal. Now I give every hyped spot one honest chance before I talk trash about it.
