Overheard a guy at the observatory say the moon looks fake through a telescope

He was dead serious too, said the craters looked too crisp like a prop from a movie set... made me wonder how many people actually think that way when they look up at the real thing?

Read somewhere that the "crisp" look actually comes from the Lack of atmosphere on the moon, not from any fancy camera tricks. The shadows are super sharp too because there's no air to soften them, which is why it looks so fake to some folks. Makes you wonder what else people think is staged just because it looks a little too perfect.
