Got roasted for my star trails looking like spaghetti

Someone on here said my 30 minute exposure from my backyard in Austin just looked like a bowl of noodles. I started using a shorter 5 minute stack and a better polar alignment. Anyone got tips for cleaner trails without a full tracker?

Wait, you got roasted for star trails? That’s brutal.

Honestly star trails are kind of a basic shot though. Everyone does them when they first get a tripod. It's just pointing at the sky and leaving the shutter open. There's no real skill or good eye needed for it. Getting roasted might be harsh, but it pushes you to try harder stuff. The whole point of sharing photos is to get better, not just post the same thing as everyone else.

@victor_adams95's take is harsh but 100% true.
