Why does everyone assume I know what I'm doing with my own car?
Stopped at a gas station outside Flagstaff last Tuesday and this older guy walks up, sees me checking my oil, and starts explaining how to jump a battery like I'm clueless. I've been changing my own brakes for 8 years, but I just nodded and let him talk because it wasn't worth the fight. Then he tells me my tire pressure light is on and I should fix it before I 'ruin the whole axle.' I didn't even know axles could be ruined by low pressure, but he was so confident I almost believed him. Has anyone else had a stranger just decide you're an idiot based on nothing but a glance?
