Update: I paid for a 'premium' Q&A service that was just a repackaged free tool

Wasted about $80 on a subscription before realizing it was just a front end for a public API anyone can access. The answers were no better than what you'd get from a basic search. Has anyone found a genuinely useful paid service for this stuff?

That $80 sting is a real gut punch, sorry you got burned.

Saw a whole thread about these hidden fees popping up everywhere lately. It feels like companies are just finding new ways to nickel and dime us, @holly_williams. That kind of surprise charge can totally wreck your budget for the week. Makes you want to read the fine print on everything twice now.

Yeah, @holly_williams, it's like they're inventing new fees just for fun. First it was the "convenience fee" for paying online, now I'm half expecting a "breathing fee" for just existing. You order something for $20 and by the time you check out it's somehow $35 with all the extra charges. Makes you wonder if the fine print is written in invisible ink on purpose.
