Stopped at a diner in El Paso last week and noticed something strange
I was grabbing breakfast at this place called L&J Cafe, and every single table had a little container of pickled carrots next to the salt shaker. Not just one or two tables, all 15 of them. I asked the waitress and she said it's been a thing there for 40 years because the owner's mom thought it helped with digestion. Has anyone else seen a weird side item like that somewhere?

Pickled carrots for digestion, huh? I guess I've been doing it wrong all these years with my post-meal antacids. I wonder if that owner's mom ever tried pickled eggs because that's usually what I find lurking in random diner jars, usually from like 1998. Maybe it's just me but that sounds way more appetizing than a side of questionable gas relief. I'd totally order a plate of those carrots just to see if my stomach thanks me or if I just end up with orange burps for the rest of the day.

man I can barely handle regular burps without em turning orange so those carrots would probably send me over the edge
