Showerthought: My fear of baking with yeast was totally unfounded.

Recipes with yeast scared me off (like, it seemed too scientific). A friend pushed me to bake basic white bread. Warm water and a pinch of sugar got the yeast active. Seeing the dough grow was really neat. Our kitchen smelled great while the bread baked. Now I'm into baking and want to do it weekly. It's easier than I expected, and the bread tastes fantastic. Next up, I might attempt a sourdough starter.

That first success really does turn it into a weekly habit.

Oh man, I read something about how small wins rewire your brain for more tries.

Yeah, that first success really is the key. It's like you prove to yourself it's possible, so the next time you're just building on that win. For me, after a simple loaf worked, I felt brave enough to try adding herbs or a bit of whole wheat flour. That small start builds a kind of momentum where you're not scared to mess up, because you already know the basic steps. Now I look at a recipe and think, 'I can handle that,' instead of closing the tab.
