Question about the 3 weeks I spent chasing a leak under my kitchen sink

So I noticed a small drip under the sink back in March and figured it was a 20 minute job with a new washer. Three weekends later I had replaced the P-trap, the supply lines, and even the disposal flange in my house in Portland, and the drip was still there. Turned out the leak was coming from a tiny crack in the drain pipe behind the wall, which I only found after watching a YouTube video at 1am. Anyone else ever spend way too long on a fix that should have been easy?
