My old boss said I asked too many questions on the job, took me 2 months to figure out he was wrong
I was doing grounds work for a tree crew in Tacoma and my foreman pulled me aside and said I needed to stop asking 'why' so much and just cut where he pointed. I tried it his way for 6 weeks and ended up nicking a fence and almost clipping a guy's gutter because I didn't know the reason behind the cut. Now I ask even more questions, just in writing before we start, and the jobs go smoother. What's the dumbest advice you got early on that you had to unlearn later?
