Was trying to get to a job interview on 4th Ave, missed the turn, my phone lost signal under the freeway overpass, and after circling twice I pulled into a parking garage and dug out that old folded map from 2019, found the street in like 30 seconds, made it with 5 minutes to spare, has anyone else had tech fail them at the worst possible second and ended up relying on something ancient?
Buddy of mine got stranded in a lightning storm in Kansas, GPS gone, no signal. He dug a Thomas Guide out from under his seat, the spiral bound one. Navigated to a motel by street light number, it took him twenty minutes but he made it.
