My brother's 'trust the torque wrench' advice cost me a cracked block
He swore my 350 was fine at 85 ft-lbs on the mains, but after 200 miles it started knocking and the machine shop confirmed I should've been at 70, has anyone else gotten bad numbers from a relative who 'knows engines'?

Learned that one the hard way with my old 302, my buddy swore by his numbers and I ended up with a spun bearing at 40 miles... trust your own research, not some relative's old habit.
