Last Tuesday was the worst day of my work year so far
I work from home and had three back to back video calls scheduled. First one the host forgot to send the link so I sat there for 15 minutes confused. Second one my internet dropped out right when I was supposed to present a project update. Third one a coworker interrupted me every 3 minutes with side questions. By 3 PM I had gotten nothing done and had to reschedule everything for Friday. Has anyone else had a day where the schedule just worked against you like that?

The whole "tech making life harder instead of easier" thing is such a mood honestly. Like we have all these tools to be more productive but they just create new ways for stuff to go wrong. WiFi drops and missing links and zoom fatigue are basically the modern version of the office copier jamming. Feels like every week there's some new glitch that eats an hour of my life. At this point I just schedule buffer time between everything because the universe clearly has it out for us.

My buddy Dave had a day like that last month. He had four client meetings in a row and the coffee shop wifi crashed during the third one, so he ended up taking notes on a napkin while sitting on a curb.

Oh man, that napkin note thing is way too relatable (I've definitely been there). But I gotta gently push back on one thing here, @butler.mark: if your buddy Dave had four client meetings in a row, that's a full day of meetings, not a "day like that" for most people. Most folks I know would call that a nightmare week, not just a rough day. Also, props to him for toughing it out on the curb, but I'd argue the real hero is whoever invented waterproof pens for napkin emergencies.
