Dropped $180 on a "lifetime" warranty vacuum sealer that died after 4 months of sealing fish
Bought it at a Bass Pro in Springfield because the guy behind the counter swore the motor was rated for daily use, and it quit on me the week I was bagging a 30 pound haul of walleye. Turns out "lifetime" meant the life of the receipt, which I lost. Anyone actually find a sealer that survives more than a season?

My uncle ran a Cabela's sealer for 11 years on Lake Erie walleye and never had a motor go out, so I figured brand loyalty was all hype. Then mine from a big box store died at month six with a freezer full of perch, which made me eat those words. Now I keep the receipt taped inside the lid and buy the one with a rebuildable pump instead of trusting the word "lifetime.
