That $60 tube of crimson I bought in 2019 is still half full

Bought a huge tube of Winsor & Newton crimson lake for a portrait class in Austin. Paid $60 thinking I'd use it all. Five years later and it's still sitting there, barely touched. My cheap student grade paints got used up way faster. Anyone else have a pricey paint they regret buying?

Winsor & Newton crimson lake? That's the one that costs like a small car payment per tube. I can't believe you paid $60 for a single color back in 2019 and it's still half full. That's wild to me because I've never dropped more than $15 on a tube of paint in my life. I bet it's beautiful though, that deep rich red that just glows on the page. But man, $60 for something you barely touch feels like burning money. I totally get why you're kicking yourself over it now.

You ever buy that one expensive thing and then get scared to use it? I got a $40 tube of cadmium red from a shop in Santa Fe back in 2018. Still have it. Still feels wrong to squeeze it out. Like I'm wasting money every time I touch it.
