Just realized the drying time on old oil paint tubes is way longer than I assumed
I got a box of half used oil paints from a lady in Phoenix last week. She told me they sat in her garage for maybe 3 years. I tried a little dab of burnt sienna on a scrap canvas and it stayed tacky for 11 days. Turns out oil paint that old needs way more oxygen to cure, and a thin layer helps a ton. Anyone else deal with slow drying from swap box paints, and did adding a little linseed oil help or make it worse?
