I finally found a use for those dried out gouache pans

Last month I dug out a set of Winsor & Newton pans from 2019 that were basically hockey pucks. I almost tossed them in recycling, but a friend said to spray them with water and let them sit overnight. Cost me nothing, they rewetted fine for sketching and I saved about $40 replacing them. Has anyone else revived old paints this way, or do you just pitch them?

Oh man, tbh I gotta disagree with this one. Once those pans turn into bricks, they're never the same for me. Sure they rewet, but the pigment gets all weird and patchy, like the binder broke down or something. I'd rather just buy fresh ones and skip the frustration.

@abbyr96 exactly, rewetting never fixes that weird patchy mess for me either.
