Oh man, that's way too relatable. I did the same thing last month with my watercolors and found a whole tube of ultramarine I forgot I even bought. Ended up trying to use it and it was all dried out and crusty. Such a waste. The worst part is I kept buying the same colors over and over because I forgot what I had. Now I keep a sticky note on my desk with a list of what's in my box so I stop doing that.

Sticky notes are a lifesaver (until they fall off and you lose them under the desk). I started taking photos of my supply stash on my phone instead, so I can check before I hit the art store. It's saved me from buying a fourth tube of Payne's gray, which is honestly more than I can say for my self control.

Man, that sticky note idea is genius. I should probably do that but instead I just keep buying the same burnt sienna over and over. It's like my brain refuses to remember I already have three tubes of it.
