Bought a $30 set of no-name brushes on Amazon and they're way better than my fancy ones

The bristles started falling out of my $70 Winsor & Newton set after 3 months, but this cheap pack of 20 from some brand called 'Artify' has held up through 6 washes without a single stray hair. Anyone else wonder if we're just paying for the name on the handle?

Right? What is it with the expensive brands falling apart so fast? I bought a $50 set of brushes from a big art store and the handles started splitting after a month of normal use. Meanwhile I grabbed a random pack of brushes from a discount store for like $8 and they're still going strong two years later. It really makes you question if the price tag is mostly for the marketing budget and fancy packaging. The quality control on these no-name brands seems way better lately, honestly.
