Was totally against putting fruit on a cheese board but tried a fig jam drizzle last week

My friend brought over this fancy fig jam she got from a farmer's market in Portland and I drizzled it over sharp cheddar on a water cracker and honestly now I get why people do sweet stuff, has anyone else had a random condiment totally change your plate setup?

Nah. Fruit doesn't belong near cheese. Keep them separate.

Wait have you ever tried a really sharp cheddar with a slice of cold apple though @william_miller? It's not like you're dumping a fruit salad on top of a cheese plate lol. Like a little bit of fig jam with some brie is basically magic and don't even get me started on pears with gorgonzola. I used to be on your side until someone forced me to try a grape with a bite of aged gouda and it honestly changed my mind. Fruit and cheese together is a classic combo for a reason, it's all about balance not just throwing random stuff together.
