Took me 45 minutes to get the rind off a wheel of brie yesterday

Was making a big snack plate for a get together. Got this wheel of double cream brie from the store. Figured I'd peel the rind off clean like a normal person so the crackers wouldn't fight it. That stuff stuck like glue. Tried slicing it thin, peeling from corners, even ran a knife under hot water. Nope. Ended up just scooping the inside out with a spoon and leaving the rind in the trash. Looked like a massacre. Anyone got a quick method for this or is scooping just the way?

Wait, you spent FORTY FIVE MINUTES on a wheel of brie? I'm sitting here in shock, honestly. "Scooping the inside out with a spoon and leaving the rind in the trash" is the most honest thing I've read all day, and I've been there too. That rind for brie is basically a dare from the cheese gods, you know? Next time, try freezing the wheel for like 15 minutes before you attack it. It firms up the gooey middle and the rind kind of peels off in one sheet, like a weird, cheesy present. Cold brie rind is way less sticky, in my experience.

Freezing works. Like @valthomas said, it peels off like a sheet.
