The grape debate is ruining snack plates
I was at a holiday party last weekend and watched a woman painstakingly arrange a whole pile of green grapes right in the center of her board. Meanwhile, she had a block of cheddar off to the side with no knife near it. I feel like grapes are mostly filler, they leak water everywhere, and they make everything around them soggy. Why are we giving them prime real estate over things like actual cheese or a good dip?

Stop the presses - you watched someone put grapes in the CENTER and exile the cheddar to the sidelines? That's like putting ketchup on a steak, pure madness. Grapes belong in a fruit bowl or maybe on the edge as a little garnish, not hogging the spotlight from actual food.

Notice how grapes are the new kale chips - something we all pretend is essential but really just takes up space so we feel better about the rest of the indulgence. We keep cramming these "healthy" fillers into everything instead of just admitting we want cheese and crackers.

Yeah but grapes are the only thing on a snack board that actually cleanses your palate between bites of heavy cheese and meat. Without them everything just turns into a salty, greasy mess after five minutes.
