My grandma's snack plates had three things on them and I still can't beat them
My grandma in Toledo used to put out these snack plates with just sharp cheddar, Ritz crackers, and green grapes, and we'd sit on her porch and eat them every Sunday. Now I see people building plates with 12 cheeses, three kinds of jam, and prosciutto roses, and honestly it's too much stuff fighting for attention. I tried the fancy route last month for a game night and ended up tossing half of it because nobody touched the fig spread. What I figured out is that three things done right beats nine things done okay, and my grandma knew that 40 years ago. Does anyone else have an old family plate they keep going back to?
