My cousin dumped the whole cheese board on the driveway and I still argue I was right to serve it warm
Last Saturday I set up a snack plate for my cousin's graduation party in Fresno, and it was about 97 degrees out. I put out a plate with sharp cheddar, pepper jack, some grapes, and a little dish of honey. I left it on the picnic table for maybe 20 minutes while we moved chairs, and the cheddar got soft and shiny. My cousin picked up the whole plate to move it, tipped it, and the cheese slid right off onto the concrete. She said warm cheese is gross and I should have kept it in the cooler. I told her soft cheese at room temp is the whole point, and cold cheddar tastes like nothing. We went back and forth for a while and half the family picked sides. So here is the debate: should cheese on a snack plate always stay chilled, or is room temp the right call? What do you all do when it is this hot out?
