My cheese plate fell apart last Friday

Had friends over and spent 45 minutes building this nice spread. Tried stacking brie on top of crackers and the whole thing collapsed in 2 seconds. Anyone else stick to flat layouts now?

Tbh I just throw everything on a wooden board now and call it rustic.

Swore by those fancy stacked arrangements for years (looked so good on Instagram, right?). But yeah, after my own gouda tower took a dive into a bowl of olives, I switched to flat layouts. Now I just fan everything out in sections, maybe a little dip bowl in the middle. Way less cleanup, way more cheese actually making it to people's mouths.
