My cheese board fell apart after I used a damp cracker base three days ago

Had 8 guests coming over and my whole pepper jack and manchego platter slid off the soggy crackers onto the table, so I just layered everything on a flat slate tile from my patio and it held up way better, anyone else ever had a board fail on you like that?

Honestly, just ditch the cracker base entirely. That's asking for trouble. Better to use something sturdy like a real slate tile or a proper wooden board from the start. Soggy crackers are a disaster waiting to happen, you knew that.
