Just realized a farmers market trick for snack plates after a trip to the Dallas market

I went to the Dallas Farmers Market last Saturday and noticed this one booth just had little bowls of pickled okra and sliced radishes. Nothing fancy. I grabbed a small cup of each for like $4 total. Threw them on a snack plate that night with some cheddar and crackers and it totally changed the whole thing. The tangy okra cut through the cheese so well. Anyone else ever grab random pickled veggies from a market and just toss them on a plate?

Have you tried roasting those pickled radishes? I grabbed a jar of spicy pickled okra from a guy at the Houston market last fall and tossed them on a cast iron skillet with butter for about 10 minutes. The tang mellows out and they get this crispy edge. Really changed how I think about over-pickled stuff.
