Warning: a dig director at a site near Rome ripped my trowel work apart
I was scraping a floor deposit way too fast and he said I was "skating on the surface and destroying context." So now I trowel in 5cm passes and bag every bit of charcoal separately, even the tiny specks. Anyone else get a dressing down like that, and what did you actually change in the field?
