My worst dig day ever turned into a cool find

Last Tuesday at the site near Tucson, it rained so hard our whole trench flooded in like 20 minutes. We were all soaked and ready to pack up when my trowel hit something solid in the mud. It was a small, carved stone bead, totally intact. Has anyone else ever found something good right when you were about to call it quits?

Yeah, that flooded trench story reminds me of the time I pulled a perfect arrowhead from mud I almost walked away from.

Wait, you almost walked away from the mud? What made you turn back and check that spot? I would have been so done with the whole muddy mess.
