My sieve split on a 400 year old privy dig in Annapolis, so I stopped trusting cheap mesh
I was screening dirt from a colonial privy pit in Annapolis last month when the mesh on my cheap $18 sieve tore apart, and I watched a tiny brass thimble drop back into the pile. Honestly that one piece would have told us more about the household than the 30 nails I had already bagged, and I spent the next two hours re-screening my own backfill by hand. Tbh I'm done with bargain gear, but what mesh size and frame do you all swear by for clay-heavy soil?
