I was walking the dog near the old quarry in Medford and spotted what looks like a worked flint tool just sitting in the dirt

Tbh the rattlesnake thing is a real problem out there. I read a local news article last year about how the old quarry land is basically perfect for them with all the rocks and heat. Honestly makes you think twice about poking around for artifacts, even if you find something cool.

Jeez, enough about the snakes. The guy found a flint tool in the dirt, that's the actual story here. People get so hung up on the risks that they forget to appreciate the find. I'd be stoked to stumble on something that old just lying around. Yeah, watch your step, but don't let a few rattlers ruin a good discovery.
