A dig supervisor told me I was digging like a hoarder, changed my whole approach
Last month at a Roman site near York, my supervisor said I was preserving every stain and never finishing a layer. I used to keep every weird discoloration, thinking it was evidence, but he made me log features and move on. Now I trust the context more than my own fear of missing something. Anyone else get that kind of pushback from a field director and change their excavation style?

So did you actually go back and re-read those spots you flagged before, or just trust the call and never looked twice? Kinda curious if the "log and move on" method ever keeps you up at night, or if it's freeing once you let go.
