The way I used to set up my climbing line for a big pine removal in Denver was a total time sink compared to my new method.
I'd spend 45 minutes setting a high tie-in point and then redirecting, but after watching a guy from a big outfit in Oregon use a simple base-tie with a running bowline for the same job, I switched and now I'm in the tree in under 15 minutes, so what's your go-to time-saving rigging trick for conifers?

Man, that old method sounds so familiar. I was stuck in that same loop for years, overcomplicating the setup. Switching to a simple base anchor with a running bowline was a total game changer for me too. It cuts out so much fuss and lets you get right to work. That extra half hour on the ground adds up fast over a week. It's nice to hear someone else found the same simple fix.

Yeah, reminds me of when I finally stopped fussing with my camping tarp rig.

Did you find it tough to let go of that old setup at first? I remember finally ditching my complicated ridge line for a simple trucker's hitch and it felt like I'd been overthinking it for years.
