Rant: I stopped clearing my saw chips downhill and my bar stopped pinching
Cutting a leaning red oak on a slope off Route 9 two weeks ago, I kept getting my bar stuck until an old-timer showed me to stand on the uphill side and let the chips fall away from the kerf instead of piling under it. Sounds obvious, but it saved me three wedges and a lot of swearing on that one tree. Anyone else changed how they stand just from where the chips land?
