Pro tip: a handsaw beat my 14 inch gas saw on a 6 inch limb, and I felt dumb
Venting a bit here. Last Thursday I was taking down a storm damaged silver maple in Peoria and reached for the gas saw on a limb I could almost fit in one hand. Took me 20 seconds to fire it up, then it bogged and pinched and I fought it for a solid minute. My ground guy grabbed the handsaw and had it clean off in maybe 12 seconds. That limb was 6 inches and the gas saw was overkill and I knew it but I went to it anyway. Pruning cuts on stuff under 8 inches just do not need 14 inches of bar and 10 pounds of saw. What bar size are you all grabbing first on small storm cleanup, or am I the only one reaching for the loud one out of habit?
