Orange spots on my cedar tree have me confused

I saw these orange spots on my cedar tree a few days ago. They keep getting bigger, and I'm not sure what they are. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Just a quick note, copper fungicide works best before you see spots, not after they're already there.

My cedar had similar orange spots last year, and it was cedar-apple rust (a pesky fungus that likes wet weather). I started by pruning out the infected branches, which helped a lot (just bag them up right away). Then I sprayed the tree with a copper fungicide every couple weeks in the spring. The spots finally faded and didn't come back this season.

Pruning the infected branches like @noah387 did is spot on, but bagging them right away is crucial. Copper fungicide in spring works wonders if you keep up with it every few weeks.
