My deadwood pruning fail on a client's big pine

I was cutting too much deadwood and hurting the trees. After one pine looked bad, I tried lighter cuts in cooler weather, and it came back strong.

Ever see a tree come back from a bad prune like that on something totally different? My uncle got too aggressive with an old pear tree a few years back, and it looked like a skeleton for a whole season. We all thought it was a goner, but it pushed out so much new growth the next spring it was wild. Nature's got some serious bounce back sometimes.

Man, that reminds me of a rosemary plant I had on my balcony. I forgot to water it for like two months during a heatwave, and it turned all brown and crispy. I mean, I was sure it was dead, but I left it out there anyway. Next thing I know, after some rain, it started putting out these tiny green shoots from the base. Idk, plants just have this will to live that's kinda wild when you think about it.

Ever think plants just give up? Not after seeing @the_dylan's pear tree.
