Just found out a single mature oak can drop over 10,000 acorns in a good year
I was reading a forestry bulletin from the county extension office in Madison County, and it mentioned that stat. I always knew they dropped a lot, but picturing that many acorns under one tree is wild. It made me think about all the cleanup jobs after a mast year. Has anyone else had a client totally shocked by the sheer volume from one tree?

Yeah that number is crazy. Had a client last fall who just kept saying "but it's only one tree" while we filled bags. A good leaf blower and a tarp to drag them to the curb was the only way.

I dunno man, are people really that worked up about leaves? It's just some dead leaves on the ground, they'll break down eventually. Seems like a lot of drama over something that'll be gone by spring anyway.

My buddy's neighbor had a massive oak. They filled a whole wheelbarrow twice a day for a week, just from the driveway. It sounded like a full time job.
