I don't buy the hype around mandatory annual chipper training days

Our company makes everyone do a full day of chipper safety training every year, and I think it's a waste. We cover the same basics each time while ignoring new techniques that could actually help. Last season, I saw a crew struggle with a jam because they hadn't been taught a simple fix we all learned years ago. Spending that day on real problem-solving would make us safer and more skilled.

That full day of training feels like a broken record sometimes, doesn't it? Your idea about workshopping actual jams makes way more sense.

Totally! Those training days should be for fixing real issues crews actually face, like that jam. Imagine if we spent the time workshopping solutions instead of repeating the same old basics.

Listen to @tara15's idea about workshopping fixes. That beats repeating basics we already know. Why not train on real problems instead?
