Hit 50 trees in one day yesterday and my arms are screaming
We had a job in Fresno clearing a lot for a new fence line and I ended up felling exactly 50 trees by myself. Some were just 8 inch boxelders but a few were 20 inch oaks, so the number surprised me when I counted the rings on the stumps later. My climbing spikes are fine but my shoulders feel like I wrestled a bear, and the client just said "you work fast" like it was normal. Has anyone else hit a weird milestone like that and realized you pushed way harder than you thought?
Fifty trees is a solid day but wait till you do that and then realize you lost your favorite pair of gloves somewhere between stump number 12 and 30. I spent an hour backtracking through brush and poison oak looking for mine after a similar job in Modesto. Found them in the truck cup holder where I left them before putting on the climbers, felt like an absolute goof. My shoulders still hurt more from the searching than the saw work lol.
