Climbing hitch comparison after a week on the same spar
Honestly, I ran a Michoacan vs a Schwabisch on a big red oak removal near Eugene and the difference in grab under wet bark was wild. Has anyone else found one hitch holds better on mossy trees or am I just getting sloppy with my tie?

Ran into the same thing on a maple last month with wet bark. The Michoacan bit way harder for me too, Schwabisch kept slipping till I added an extra wrap.
Mossy trees are just greasy, so I usually go Michoacan and check my tie before I trust it. Could be the bark, could be the hitch, but you're not crazy.
