Bought a $600 stump grinder attachment, used it twice
Picked up a stump grinder attachment for my skid steer back in March for $600 at an auction in Knoxville. It ground through two small pine stumps fine, then the belt shredded and the teeth wore out, costing another $150 to fix. Anyone else find it cheaper to just rent one for the day instead of owning?
That $150 fix after two uses is basically the story of every tool I've ever bought. Seems like the whole "buy once, cry once" thing only works if you're using it every week, otherwise you're just paying storage fees for a headache.
