Watched a guy fix a 20 year old dryer with a paperclip and I still think about it
Stopped by a laundromat in Bakersfield 2 months ago to drop off a part and the owner was messing with a dryer that kept shutting off mid cycle. He pulled the door switch out, bent a paperclip into a little hook, and used it to pull the stuck lever back into place. Took him maybe 3 minutes and that machine is still running today. I keep a whole box of door switches on my truck and he used office supplies. What is the weirdest thing you have used to get a machine running again?
My buddy zip tied a washing machine lid switch shut with a shoelace once and that thing ran for another year. Old guys at laundromats just figure it out with whatever's in their pocket.
You think that shoelace guy ever thought he'd be saving somebody's laundry day with pocket junk? Honestly the zip tie trick is basically a rite of passage for anyone too cheap to call a repair guy.
